In part four of the Incomplete Thought Series we cling to a quote from Brother James Baldwin.
“To be a Negro in this country and to be relatively conscious is to be in a rage almost all the time.”
The Global Genocide of Black People: So if to be relatively conscious is to be in a rage then this is the turning point in black identity, black history, and black power in America. If you keep up with what’s going on with other brothers and sisters across the diaspora you will see that we are separated by continent and language, but it’s the same song. Black people are marginalized and being snuffed out in a systematic way. Snuffed out by murder, appropriation, and trivialization.
The black man is lost, the black woman is hardened and lonely, and the black child is brought into a world that is against them; where even the family unit and community that used to protect them is so segmented that their safety net is all but gone.
This is a crossroads and at this crossroads here is what’s happening:
Police Brutality
Community Disconnect due to integration
Decrease in the teaching of Black History outside of school
